Dr. Bridson died last week. When Laura was first born, Dr. Bridson saved her life on numerous occasions. The following year, when her health deteriorated again, Dr. Bridson moved mountains to ensure Laura received the best help available anywhere, as he admitted he couldn't give her the care she required. This quietly spoken gentleman was warm, friendly, helpful and as kind a man as you could wish to meet. As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes. We will be unable to attend his funeral. But to know such a warm, friendly, kind friend as Jay WILL be there is some comfort. Please, Jay, pass on our condolences to your girlfriend and her family. We will forever be grateful that Dr. Bridson came into our life back in 1994. https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/20971/tributes-paid-to-long-serving-doctor
Must be so awful for your girlfriend not to be able to attend her Dad's funeral but I'm sure your presence will be a big comfort for her on Friday. Really grateful that my children didn't need his services but he sounds like he was a great doctor.and friend.
Lovely tribute that. "Quietly spoken gentleman" is a perfect epitaph that I think he'd endorse. I was lucky that my work meant I regularly crossed paths with John Bridson from starting my training in 1992 until his retirement, he diligently worked and cared for an incalculable number of children, and their families, on Special Care Baby Unit, the Children's Ward and in Outpatients. He's a man that I have always held in the highest regard, was a privilege to know him.
