I don’t think we ought to be rejoicing. She’s a **** of the highest order is Priti, of that there’s no doubt, but I’m struggling to see a reason to be cheerful looking at the rest of the runners and riders. We’re ****** either way
Priti has only bowed out because she’s been promised a top job by one of the other appalling candidates.
Of all the candidates she’s the one I don’t want the most… and I don’t want any of them (and I really, really don’t want some of them). A shame she’s not standing to split the vote though, there’s a real chance we may end up with Truss now. Although at least she’s ridiculous enough that she might not win a General Election.
The next hour is going to be interesting as I suspect quite a few will fail to meet the level required. My biggest worry was that Johnson would trample rules and laws and create a clearer path for someone who was evil and ideological and still in a populist mould. There are quite a few of them and they seem to be more popular. Truss should be nowhere near it, but she's an idiot with a poor attention span and not an ideological psychopath. It's like choosing how to get executed!

I wanted her she would have run the tory vote into the ground. I would anticipate anyone competent catching Labour fairly quickly.
I think its a close call between her and Braverman to be honest both are worse than the rest of the runners though its a very low bar of course
Apologies for going a bit off topic (a few local craft IPAs talking here) and yet.... while we squabble and make war on our tiny blue green ball and argue politics, NASA are publishing pictures from the latest space telescope. These show galaxies with images, some of which have taken 13 billion...yep... 13 BILLION!! light years to reach us !! The size of our universe and those distances is certainly way way beyond my comprehension . Puts all our squabbles into perspective . Quite depressing really. Really, in the grand scheme of things, if humans self destructed would anyone anaywhere give a toss! All the talk about destroying the planet is ******. Our planet is good for a few more billion of years until our Sun gives out, it is just our species that won't last unless we survive long enough to export our stupidity to other worlds.
