    Barnsley town hall is a beautiful building. You don’t always appreciate things when they are on your door step.

    Just reading about the costs when it was built and how George Orwell was critical of the costs when the town’s residents were in post war poverty.

    I couldn't see a pic of the West Stand. It'll be in there. Our Heritage... for our great great grandkids to see and reflect on their families....

    One of those things of the past where taking photos of everyday life was a rarity, what with the cost of cameras, films and processing. Plus it just wasn't done or thought of. I bet now you can probably get a minute by minute account of the town with all the smartphone and CCTV material. I shot a roll of film in Hoyland back in the 80's, walking down into the town centre but I can't find it anymore.
