You cannot beat the flavour of lamb slow cooked with the red wine and mint gravy. So much was there that we've had to bring a doggy bag back. Tomorrow's tea back home. The Britannia is a lovely old pub and does some great local beers. I'm sure some of you will know it.
I remember having a roast king Henry in the Queen’s Head in Hawkshead maybe 30 years ago when it was a truly authentic Lake District Inn. I’ve never forgotten how quintessentially Cumbrian it was. The Queens Head has evolved into a less unique experience than it was but I can still almost taste that lamb.
