Plenty to build on And before it comes along to tell us we should not have gone 442, we certainly needed to do something and Thiam made a huge difference
For a team so young and inexperienced I thought it was a fantastic performance . Found myself moaning a time or two with sloppy play and naive passes but brought myself back to earth with the ongoing progression that is certainly coming. We gave as good as we got in a lot of areas and we can get better with experience and the hard work they have all shown today. We sacrificed the wings to shore up midfield and imo it worked to an extent but at times it was a bit hair raising.
Brilliant battling performance against a team who, man for man, had better players than us. Marginally better anyway. We played narrow, they played wide, meaning they had loads of possession out wide. Could have gone either way in the second half. Well done lads.
I'm not sure what the best way is to deploy him but I think what I mean is that he should be playing regardless. He looks a find.
I thought we should have subbed Pearson for Yiadom it was obvious that Boro were targeting that side. Davies's handling was superb . All in all decent point .
From what i've seen I would say he's a class above anyone we've got and probably most in the league. He's got to start matches this kid.
He obviously speaks no English as a couple of time on breakaways we had players screaming for it but he didn't pass and ended up shooting. Can't quite decide about that - most goal scorers have a touch of greediness about them, this lad has that and he changed the game when he came on. But if he'd passed the ball, who knows?
Nothing to do with language. He wouldn't have been wondering if they were asking him what he was doing on his day off. Goalscorers have a selfish instinct and I thought he was right to shoot when he did. It was just that the shots were poor. I thought today was the most entertaining game of the season. We played well and it could have gone either way. I would have brought Hedges and Bird on 10 minutes earlier. McGeehan was clearly shattered.and Boro had slowed down after their 2nd. But I'm happy with a point as Boro were the best side I've seen at Oakwell this season.
Totally agree. After nine minutes I wondered how many goals would be scored in the match. For me Liam Lindsay was man of the match. A masterful display by the young man.
