As I've just said in another thread, United are probably around the same quality as Fulham, which does not bode well for next week. I think the defence will get better as they get used to playing alongside each other but I wouldn't be surprised if we take a fair few batterings in the first half of the season.
I don't understand why any professional footballer has trouble hitting the top pocket from 20 yards? I still do it in my sleep..
I think we're in for a bit of a Bassett season. Have to outscore opposition every week to get promoted.
Didn't see anything there that doesn't make me think its going to be anything but a long struggle next season. We played some pretty patterns in mid-field at times, but it never threatens. Defence looks as shaky as most of us feared..
I stopped attending pre season games some years ago, but watched some of the live stream. From what I saw we were poor. Quick free kick led to a goal for them, and Woodrow losing the ball out wide also cost us dear. In terms of attacking play, there was very little to encourage. You can see that were trying to pass the ball, but we came up against a better side and you just can't afford to be that sloppy without getting punished. Fulham will be a big test, but a few changes and a decent crowd will hopefully see a marked improvement on today.
