Does anyone have a snapshot of the league table from that season after 32 games? I'm very curious to see how far outside the playoffs we were and what sort of points deficit we overturned. We could conceivably be within three points of a very jittery Brentford in a week's time.
Gillingham had a bit of a collapse didn't they. They only gained 11 more points in the rest of that season and finished 9th.
Yep, forgot about them, I think they were one of the few teams to beat us under Heckingbottom? Was it Bradford who got into the play offs too?
Brilliant cheers. So we were six points off, but we'd played a game more than quite a few of those around us. So, could we conceivably say that the turnaround required to get us into second this season is actually slightly less than the one we needed to clinch 6th in 2016? With the caveat of course, that teams in second tend to drop fewer points than those in 6th. In short, I don't think that automatic promotion is completely out of the question yet. Unlikely, maybe. But definitely not unrealistic, especially if we win the next two.
I think you're right, they ended that long unbeaten run we were on. Bradford made the Play-offs but lost to Millwall.
