The Birmingham one looks shocking! Non-league standard.

Thought the QPR and Cardiff kits looked smart. Ours are a bit bland to be fair, but not as bad as Wednesday's away shirt.

They’ve got a point about the washing line image, it might have sounded like a great idea in the meeting, but landed terribly

Our kit is apparently one template in different colours. Even on Rotherham's they reference that all three of ours are the exact same kit in different colours

    Same design?

That wasn't our image though. It was a supporter's image. We sent a number of fans the shirts in advance and allowed them to reveal the kits. It was a great idea and went down well at the time.

Things that I've taken from that article:

    1. The generic criticism leveled at our kits has some validity although ranking Millwall and Stoke's off the peg home efforts second and first seems to contradict this
    2. All things considered, no way are our kits the second worst on show there - some absolute shockers in there
    3. The author has awful taste judging by some of the kits rated highly (Wednesday away, Cov both)
    4. Our away kit looks MINT, especially based on the Crewe outgoing - in it's own right one of the smartest kits in the Champ this season
    5. Luton home and Reading away are a disgrace

I saw it was one of those papers that make headlines like "BEST AND WORST FOOTBALL SHIRTS IN HISTORY: AND WE SHOW YOU HOW", but stupidly I clicked on it anyway. I like how ours was "meh" but other ones with a much more basic design were described better. Also, How they have a go at the setting (especially after now seeing Whitey's post about other photos) when many are just the shirt is a bit of an insult. I got just past Luton's away kit and gave up looking.

Absolutely love our away kit. Must admit I really like Rotherham's pin striped away effort too, very stylish.

Wednesdays away shirt looks like your standard Fritzl hunting gear.

I get that football shirts are a matter of taste but we haven't done ourselves any favours by putting them on a washing line. Tacky idea at best imho.

By definition I hate any shirt with blue on it. So while I wholeheartedly agree with you about the Birmingham shirt, I cannot agree with you about QPR and Cardiff. They are also both shockers :) as are Reading, SW, Wycombe, Coventry, Millwall and Huddersfield:)

We didn’t put them on a washing line. A supporter did. That’s where the photo came from. And I actually like it anyway. We briefed a number of fans during lockdown, sent them the shirts (which they got to keep for free) and asked them to take photos which we then let them release on social media. We allowed them to reveal the new kits ‘from home’ during lockdown.

Majority of other clubs released theirs well after us, which allowed them to involve their players as restrictions relaxed. We wanted to involve our loyal fans.

I really like our away kit. I just don’t like that it isn’t unique and Peterborough have the exact same shirt.

Thanks YT, I really understand the sentiment behind what you are doing. So, collectively "We" put the shirts on a washing line. The picture was released on the club website and/or Twitter at the shirt release (iirc, please tell me if I'm wrong).

You like the idea, I don't. (Have you heard the expression "hung out to dry?" Well that's what it says to me)

Always slightly questionable if a grown man over the age of 32 is found wearing a football shirt
