A number of 1st team players contracts are up next summer. Who do we think will sign new deals who will leave?

Hourhine-- I would be suprised if he did sign a new deal and stayed I can see us accepting a low bid in January so we don't let him go for free.

Winnall-- not sure about sam playing a dangerous game running his contract down. Not sure if he will stay.

Scowern-- think he will stay I hope anyways

Watkins-- had a 1 million pound bid rejected from Ipswich last transfer window. Must be frustrated been left out past few games when he has been out most effective foreward so far this season.

Could be a very diffrent team come January.

    From what I can tell it's;

    Davies
    Bree
    White
    Hourihane
    Scowen
    Watkins
    Winnall
    Nyatanga

    Obviously Nyatanga will leave
Hourihane is up in the air, personally I think he'll leave on a free next summer instead of Jan

The rest I think is dependant on their fitness (the 2 fullbacks) and how they play this season, would prefer Davies tied to longer than just a 1 year extension but it's what Hecky wants that happens

Can't see Hourihane leaving for a small fee. We'd rather he went for free and pushed us as far as he can. Subject to where that is he could stay. He has appetite and ability to be in a team 6th-26th in this country. Might keep him if in that mix.

Haven't heard that heard he didn't want to discuss one. Neither did sam winnall but that could be a bad desision if his form continues.

He is wanting to play at the highest level. So in 17/18 will that be us? If not then he'd look to go - maybe unless we are a solid top 6 side

Depends where we are in January imo what happens with Houriane.
If were near top and in a good position for run in I think we'll keep him.
Same goes if were near bottom we'll want him for added quality and stability in the event of a dogfight .
If were well positioned away from bottom needing very few points for safety but nowhere near run in I think we'll cash in and either buy to replace or promote from within if we have any prospects for that position.

Davies is signed until 2018 with option for another year

I'd like to think Watkins and Scowen will stay, Winnall and Hourihane are different cases but even if they leave for nothing next summer, whilst we wouldn't have receieved a transfer fee for them, we would more than have earned our value for what we paid for them as they paid massive parts in promotion, and indeed hopefully at least safety as well. Can't see us letting them go for a small fee in January, only if the offer is excessive

My major concern here is if we continue with the replacement policy we have seen from the Mawson sale. If thats the case we'll have a team full of non league/ league 2 players trying to find their feet at this level all at once.

When Connor gets mixing wi the ROI boys, and he finds out how much they get, he'll be out of our reach . But not at Crimbo tho, cos I kind of remember Plymouth saying they had a good sell-on.. So no point letting him go cheap.

Ive a feeling Josh ill move on aswell..darn sarf.

If I remember rightly I think he activated a clause in his contract that he could get a new contract. Seems ages ago since he replaced Turnbull as No1

Definitely won't let Hourihane go for a small fee. I think Winnall is daft if he didn't want to sign with us an extension. I personally don't think he'll play first team football for anyone in the Championship. Might regret it

I understand your view, but could we just give Winnall more than 5 games to cut it in the Championship? He's a streaky player. He scored 1 in his first 11 after signing for us in League 1 before scoring 8 in the next 8

On current form the likes of Watkins, Bradshaw and Armstrong deserve to start instead of him, but to come to such a conclusion in my opinion after just 5 games is ridiculous when you consider how well he stepped up from League 2 to 1, after taking a while to get going. Might be the same in the Championship

Thing with Winnall is that at any point he can go quiet for 6/7 games then he'll knock 8 in 6 in. He's a penalty box finisher which most of the time means they'll score goals at whatever level theyre playing at.

I'm definitely not writing him off mate. What I mean is we know he's a streaky player, but would any other club offer him a lot better teams and be as patient? Especially if they have quality players like Watkins, Armstrong & Bradshaw. How quickly would fans turn on him/the manager when theyre sitting on the bench and Sam goes missing for 4/5/6 games. I really do like Winnall but I just personally think he won't get a better opportunity than us; unlike Hourihane who will make an absolutely fantastic Premier League player in my opinion, never mind Championship. I really do think he leaves for another Championship club he will waste away on the bench or out on loan at a lower league club

Well it all depends on how he performs this season of course but don't forget Leeds bid for him in January so clubs must see him as good enough for the Championship
