Anyone planning on using train travel this season then I recommend the Trip.com app. Tickets to Blackpool for me were 27 through Northern Rail app but got them for 13 through the above app - might help a few of you

I drive to the aways, but having just turned 60 I can have a senior railcard and save 33%. It’s never going to be as cheap as sharing the fuel cost, but I am considering doing the odd one on the train in the future.

I'd love to do most games by train but it's so expensive. Looked at the plymouth game and for me and my son 16-17 railcard it was £180. Pain driving down there but about £70 petrol

It's this sort of nonsense which is making the move to more sustainable transport almost impossible. By any sensible calculation, rail should be by far the cheaper option. If I come to Barnsley on my own, I can (just) do it cheaper than by car (£8 for Senior Derbyshire wayfarer to Sheffield and £7 from Sheffield to Barnsley), but if my wife decides to come, it's way cheaper to drive - crazy.

I generally don't use the train - would cost me 45 pound return to get to home games. I can get a national express to Leeds for 18 pound return. Have to get a train then but get a discount through Discount for Teachers. Whole trip is about 27 - some savings over the season

I turned 60 last year and am now on my second senior railcard. If you do any shopping at Tesco you can get one using just £15 worth of club card points.
