We’ve kept hold of these three to be honest Seems a pretty damn good transfer window to me (No idea about our latest signing like but…)
Same. I reckon if Preston or even Luton had come in for Phillips early in the summer he’d have been gone. The attacking players we have at our disposal is mad for league 1. Let’s hope we have a real push for promotion now!
Derby fans seem very positive about Rooney It does feel a big big gamble on no injuries especially as Mcgoldrick is unlikely to manage Tuesday Saturday
This is key Helen. CH hasn't only raised the standards at the club; seems like he's made the whole working atmosphere a lot more pleasurable whilst still enforcing the necessary discipline. I'm not surprised that these guys have stayed. Disappointed that McAtee hasn't joined. He would have been a great addition.
Yeah think so too. I wonder if the deal that meant we had to buy at the end of the season also gauranteed him his current wage and maybe that was outside our wage structure? Just guessing.
Got to admit, I 100% believed 2 of the 3 would go and more so after they started the season brilliantly. I asked a few weeks ago how many of the last 15 years we’ve started the season with a stronger team than the one before. Hands up. This is one. Bravo and humble pie gladly eaten.
In my lifetime there have only been two occasions where we nearly, and really should have, won the title. In 1981 we should have pipped Rotherham, and then under Stendel, if either Moore or Woodrow had not missed 1/3 of the season through injury we’d have pipped Luton. This season, however, is going to be our year, I can feel it!
Yep Mcatee would have been a cherry on top of a very nice cake. The team spirit is a massive thing and if in the end we couldn't afford to give Bolton what they needed and let's face it they paid a fair wack for him.
We don't know what attempts were made behind closed doors but you would at least hope we tried negotiating "ok, obligation to buy but only if promoted".
