I’m not sure he’s even conducted a surgery there yet. Man of the people. Can’t be arsed to do his job. The people who elected him are beneath him.
She is. She'd be a better leader than Keef. Can't see me voting Labour again while he is in charge. Looking like Corbyn's new party for me next election
"Rain forecast for later in week in fresh blow to Starmer!" "Rayner defends use of Nescafe Gold despite socialist principles!"
but weird this thread eh. Not quite gone as well as you’d hoped.obviously you not taking sides is the key thing though.
At the end of the day they all piss in the same pot, I am voting for Charlie boy lets go back to monarchy rule.
I find this an interesting one. It is newsworthy because Rayner purports to be of a socialist persuasion and is in a government facing a housing crisis and the angle the press (rightly in my view) follow as a sub-text is one of hypocrisy. Her Government even to date by fiscal drag taxes the wealth built up by ordinary working people and most commentary predicts this to get worse. I also own three houses the difference being I let two out with current tenants staying in them for 15 years and 6 years respectively and have had previous tenants I've given a chance to who were financially excluded. I have worked to do this to fund my retirement, and face a regulatory and tax struggle to continue making this work. Unlike AR I haven't had any handouts from the tax payer and unlike her my houses all serve a purpose, whereas at any given time two out of three of hers are unoccupied. The MPs having London residences is a gravy train. They claim expenses for having a london home and reap the benefits of the london housing market when they sell. They should be able to claim hotel expenses or have a deal with hotels or build one for the purpose. I did wonder what AR's other half does in case he was paying for all this. Out of work ex-MP who "advises" the Night time economy having previously been on a commons committee about it. Sounds like a lot of the "lobbyists" we read about from time to time. He hit the press this year after AR failed to disclose a trip for the pair of them to the USA paid for by Lord Alli. I think she's got her nose in the trough as much as anyone but of course she's flying under a Labour flag so can do no wrong in some people's eyes.
Admiralty Arch is a grace and favour flat for the deputy prime minister of the day. As are Chevening and Chequers for Foreign Sec and PM. Really going to struggle to make profit on that given she doesn't own it.
so she can live rent free in london courtesy of us and saves enough money for a £700k somewhere else. London evening standard now running a story about where she pays council tax as her "main residence"
I'm sure Richard Tice will turn it down in a few years. Maybe he'll let it out free to a family of Afghan interpreters
