Does anyone know which game this season has been designated as our ‘Get a Good Ref’ game? hopefully not the same day as designated for another club, im not sure there are enough to go round.
Didn't just boot the ball at him, he followed through and clattered Vimal - who was a yard off the pitch. Edit - and we only got a throw in! For the second booking, Vimal didn't slide in, he lost his footing on his left leg as his right foot clearly got the ball. Very harsh booking. 2nd Edit - if his left foot hadn't slipped, he wouldn't even have gone to ground.
Conor even had no complaints with either booking of Vimal. The ref was correct to book our keeper for time wasting. There was one incident second half where he had the ball and decided he wanted to go walkies and use one that was propped on a cone. Apart from the DKD shirt pull situation he really wasn't as bad as he's made out to be. Barnsley fans love a pity party when it comes to a ref, feeling hard done by nearly every game for years and year.
I usually agree with Conor but not on his take with Yonganathan against Bolton I honestly don't think any of the incidents merited a yellow, the first was just hand bags at dawn but you cannot expect anyone just to stand there and let another bloke keep pounding away at you and the second I have slowed the incident down , paused it , stopped it and I don't see contact only with ball. Their Oscar winner got him sent off.
My point still stands though, it was aggressive but he clearly kicked the ball so no need to retaliate! Not seen the 2nd booking but at the time I thought Vimal got the ball, he was having a good game up to then and would have been close to Bland for mom, no idea how McGoldrick got it, apart from scoring he was offside numerous times and should have broke the net before HT, overall think Vickers deserved mom
Alan Little, Glyn Thomas , Steve Mcmahon and Ron ( Chopper ) Harris would have seen Red every other game , and don't get me started on Vinnie Jones .
And yet it was the Bolton fans that did most of the booing. If you don’t think a ref who treats players on both sides differently for similar and even worse offences is a decent ref, then I’m glad you’re not one. It’s not always about disagreeing with the decision made, it’s the inconsistency of treatment of the players. Look at our disciplinary record already, if you think we are a dirty side or deserve that record then I despair. Nothing to do with pity you muppett
He may not have been able to stop his run, but he didn't have to shoulder-charge him in the chest off the pitch.
Sheehan was chasing after the ref waving an imaginary red card. A similar incident in a PL game this weekend got the hand wagger a yellow, as it should.
All physical play has been outlawed, except for wrestling in the penalty area, where only the attacking team is ever penalized.
