This is why I'm glad we've got a few local derbies this season. Home capacity must only be around 16k? To say the Ponty was sold out and it only be 12.5k is slightly underwhelming
Ponty was sold out wasn't many seats left in eaststand and even West stand had good numbers in it. 400 or so Burton fans.
Ponty was full and East as full as I've seen it for a long time. So 12k home fans seems on the low side. Not disputing the club's arithmetic though.
I thought it'd be more than 12an half, but as long as they all went home happy, thats all that matters.
Can't understand why they can't put a few Barnsley fans in away end segregated from away fans when only a few away fans turn up.
The away end was built after the horse had bolted. Been a white elephant ever since. Finances should have been shared on the away end and west stand.
Why? I know the west stand really needs a upgrade but in the last few years since been in league one I can only remember about 3 games were the home ends have fully sold out (about 13500?)so I don't think more seats is really a issue.
It's not just the seating that the stand brings though is it? The facilities underneath are a big plus.
Give over. Load of rubbish. Probably paid it for itself a few times over. The idea was to get maximum money from big away followings, and then smaller ones we could split it. Sure, home support has struggled, but it’s been filled or nearly filled loads of times. Then has all the facilities underneath it too. Was and still is the right idea - but will only ever be split if demands calls for it.
What was the opening game attendance in previous seasons. 12.5 doesn’t sound bad to me but maybe I’ve lost touch with the averages and comparisons.
