Thanks Gally and everyone who helps to keep this site going! I don't post much these days because I feel that I haven't got a lot to contribute (I mean, even less than before!), but I still log in here every day to see what's going on. I used to post on barnsleyfc.net and I think I joined this bbs at the very beginning too? Sadly it's been way too long since my last visit to England and Barnsley, and with the way how the world is going right now I'm not sure when the next time will be, but I'll always have fond memories of those visits and the people that I met. Believe it or not, this site has played a crucial role in keeping my love for Barnsley alive for the last 21 years, so I hope that we will still be posting here in 21 years from today. Our good old-fashioned bbs beats all the social media platforms any day.
Gally You're a star. Thank you for providing this forum, which is the place where we can all come and vent our feelings, express our opinions, disagree with each other and know that we all want the same thing....in footballing terms. However, it goes beyond that. You've created a space where we can dig deep and go beyond football. Being able to come on here and talk about whatever we want to talk about is a wonderful space which we can all share. Thank you.
Steve S’s Diary. It will be 19 years since his early death next month. well done Gally and your colleagues in maintaining this entertaining forum. Keep up the good work.
Just checked my profile and it says I joined in Jan 2006, so nearly from the start. Without doubt the best football forum on the Internet. Clean, ad free layout, well populated and it's always been about more than just the football which is pretty unique. I have visited quite a number of other clubs forums over the years and none of them hold a candle to this place. So many of them are horrible to navigate and so full of ads they are virtually unusable. The only one I have seen that comes close to ours is Bristol City's. So thanks - very grateful for the time and cost spent in running it.
Thanks Gally, but most of all Thanks all you BBSers that make it work, an above all Thanks Mario Kempes, Keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
Thanks again for your efforts Gally. Many of us would be lost without this forum I'm sure. I think I signed up just after Wembley 2008 from memory.
This is one of a very small number of sites that I visit on a daily basis (the others are Kindle daily deal and a couple of news sites). And it's the only one that I visit multiple times in a day. I don't do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or the like. This is the only place where I connect with anyone online. The BBS is head and shoulders above anything else. It keeps me up to date, it teaches me new things, it cheers me up, it helps me unwind, and at times it makes me laugh out loud. Thank you, Gally, for making it all happen. Long live the BBS!
Gally, Thank you for all the selfless work in keeping this site running. As you can see from the comments so far, it’s a real refuge for many of us. It helps those of us who are away stay connected to the club and the local area.
Thank you Gally and all others who have made this forum what it is, including of course all the contributors - ok then, nearly all the contributors. I was a member on the old forum, albeit under a slightly different forum name and did contribute much more than I do now. Now as an 'exile' I can keep in touch with what is happening, not only with matters relating to BFC, but also news and interest from Barnsley and district and indeed the world. Long may it continue.
I was on the previous incarnation and remember posting during season 96/7. Not sure how long it had been in existence prior to that - I'm sure somebody will tell me. I would have signed up to the "new" version as soon as it went online.
I was on the old one as well. I used to view a lot without signing in because whilst I was interested in others views, I rarely posted myself. This resulted in getting kicked off for a lack of activity and I had to renew membership.
Just want to echo what others have said, I’ve met so many people through this forum who’ve now become friends, arranged pre match meet ups, away days, charity walks and great laughs along the way, Thanks Gally
i dont post as often as i used to these days (for varying reasons) but thought i just had to comment on this thread and also pass on my extreme thanks to all those who run and contribute to this great site. from all things bfc, football related and other varied interesting topics ive found it a great help for mental health and am happy to see the many people who also feel the same way on here. once again many thanks all and keep up the great work coyr
20 years on here and a few years on the previous board arguing with Chris Corke. I've been threatened with divorce a few times due to me "being on here a little bit too long than I should be" but she has never followed it through haha
Haven’t posted on here (or anywhere else for that matter) for years. Always felt welcome & had some great laughs - some amount of characters on here. Just looked and found I signed up in 2006!
