I’m in a quandary with it all… They have 15 contracted players. The (seemingly) best stand in the ground has been condemned & closed by the council. Nobody’s been paid for 3 months. The best manager they’ve had in 15 years has ‘mutually’ walked out. The owner has taken loans against his company to fund his ‘project’ at swillsboro. His company is now struggling, share prices & therefore his profits & income have stopped. The loans he’s had, based on his income, to plough into the ‘massive’ are now in default, due to his lack of income. He needs to sell the club, for far far more than it’s worth, just so he doesn’t have negative equity & go into bankruptcy. He’s alienated every business that’s been associated with the club for the 30 years before he became the owner. He’s paid ‘ridiculous’ wages to average players for all his tenure & thought that he could have any player he wanted, sometimes just to stop his rival clubs. You didn’t need a crystal ball really to see that his ‘model’ had no longevity. the guy & the ‘plan’ was never going to work. I’ve not been able (still) to watch any highlights of Windass scoring the winner against us at Oakwell south, don’t think I ever will. (Honest) They are the most repulsive club you could ever wish to play & I honestly can’t stand them. But here lies the quandary ….. We’re not the best run club We’ve got no money We’ve got owners who are lumping their hard earned in every season Our ‘plan’ isn’t exactly working We’ve witnessed probably one of the worst seasons last year for a long time. The approach from us & them are miles apart, but the outcome could be very close. I’m glad it’s them & not us. can’t stick em, but it’s still the quandary….
Save Sheffield Wednesday. They are a footballing institution , people’s livelihoods are at risk. It could very easily happen to us or any club. They are being absolutely mercilessly destroyed by one man.
No sympathy for them whatsoever. According to Kieran Maguire Chansiri has put in close to £200m. Football fans aren't happy unless they're spending other people's money, and Chansiri has done that and is now struggling for cash. They enjoyed the good times, and now the club is having to reset to live within its means they can't handle it. This needs to happen at dozens of clubs. Fans need to accept that costs and wages are too high. The actions of clubs like Wednesday push up wages at clubs like ours. I hope our owners are able to get control of our costs before something similar happens, and if that means we're left behind by clubs who are living beyond their means then so be it. Hopefully they'll meet a similar fate as Wednesday.
Alan sugar used to own spurs said it was his biggest regret said he's putting loads into the club and fans turned on him your alright ant ya,if I did that wi tarn and all fans turned on mi ad pay money to have the place blown up,good riddance only kidding but wen I was younger it may have crossed my mind, empty ground like,he owns ground there in trouble because if he sells the nasty **** would probably say find somewhere else to play, knock it down and build a casino or summat.why did we sell are other half to council for peanuts, what do we get in return,I think there's a bigger picture going on we just want the **** shareholders out ie chien, let's see.
Seriously hope they go under! Can't stand 'em.... Never have! Their fans are the smuggest set of tw@ts I've ever encountered. Good riddance to them.
