Just been checking the odds, they're 18-1 to win at Leicester on Saturday! Must be some of the longest odds ever for a regular league game, with the possible exception of some ridiculous Premier League mismatches. For comparison, I think we were only 8-1 to win at places like Highbury and Old Trafford in the league.

After Wembley they loved to sing “who put the ball in the dingles net Windass Windass “ they even had t-shirts printed saying as much but i think it’s time us Barnsley fans adapted that, so here goes nothing .
Who left the pigs in a load of debt
    Chansiri Chansiri
Maybe we could even get the club to sell the t-shirt lol

Looks like Chansiri is no different to our owners when it comes to his own wealth.
His family own a company that owns amongst others John West, his father founded it and his brother now runs it, so very similar to Neerav in that regard.
It seems he owns less than 1% of the company and the company have felt the need to release the following statement to distance themselves.
“Neither Thai Union Group nor John West Foods have any financial interest in, or connection with, Sheffield Wednesday F.C. For further info, please contact the club directly. Thank you.”.

Do you know or think that our owner has no significant wealth?

I wonder how many clubs are the playthings of owners who've been given a few quid to get away from their parents main business?

The similarities are worrying, though I'd like to think our owners, however poor they've been, however much of a mess they've got us in, have higher ethical standards than the comparator.

I can’t comment on our owners actual wealth and wasn’t doing, I was making the comparison that the assumed wealth was linked to a family owned company not a personal wealth.
Which is exactly what lots on here have done in the past with Neerav.

You must be on a different version of owlstalk. It’s full of the most delusional people i’ve ever seen. People on there thinking their club is worth £100m because “we are one of the biggest clubs in the world”, trying to arrange “global protests”, planning on writing to the thai media to say that he’s “disgraced their country and royal family in the eyes of the people of the UK”

I could go on but you get the point. These are the same people that were singing “he spends what he wants” when it was obvious to anybody with half a brain cell that he was gambling on promotion to the premier league and if it didn’t work this was the only outcome.

I have 0 sympathy in the slightest for the fans. I feel for the employees and hope they can get a job in the supermarket and premier inn that is built on the rubble of one of the worst stadiums in the country in a few years time.

Viva Chansiri. Going to go buy some John West tuna now in the hopes that even a tiny percentage keeps his wonderful ownership going a little bit longer.

As a percentage I bet we have been spending more money that we don't have than they have and yet our fans are still moaning we aren't spending enough so if we go under would it be fair to say we were fine spending money etc?

Personally I'm just really glad that I don't support a club that doesn't own it's own stadium, is spending significantly beyond it's means, has recently had to close one of its stands due to it being unsafe and that we aren't owned by an Asian bloke who's wealth comes from mummy and daddy giving him some cash

Schadenfreude isn't my thing at all. Don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, when we play them I want us to batter them, but the stuff about their fans in the threads on here, and the obsession with them, don't understand it at all. This idea that the people who support Sheffield Wednesday have certain character traits, that they're a certain type of person... that's the kind of stereotyping, and ultimately the dehumanising, that is the root of most of the evil in this world.

Another example of why I feel so lost and alone, millions of lightyears from home, surrounded by aliens.

But when Chansari took over, what would make him fail the fit and proper test? He obviously had/has truck loads of money and ran/runs a successful business. The fact he’s turned out to be an absolute bell drop…well that’s only come out in time.

Famously no violence or animosity between fans in the 70s, 80s or 90s aye!
Some serious rose tinted nostalgia goggles in this thread.
