Tenerife Tommy will just have to go back to his Autumn, Winter & Spring retreat in the Canaries a bit earlier this year.

I genuinely thought you were joking when you posted this, then I read it for myself.

    He's a parody, surely.

Am I right in thinking that there is no CCTV or footage of the actual incident - only the aftermath?

If that's so, then I wonder if it will affect the prospects of a conviction. If there is no independent witness or other footage, then presumably it comes down to one person's word against another's. Robinson/Yaxley-Lennon reportedly said "he came at me". We are probably entitled to be sceptical of that, but it's certainly believable that plenty of people would like to have a go at him. We would then be into the realms of self-defence. It would then be for the prosecution to rebut that defence beyond reasonable doubt by, e.g. showing unreasonable force was used. Bad character evidence could be admissible, but the judge would have to assess whether it goes to an actual fact in issue - a tricky process in regard to someone like Robinson. It might look like a "bang to rights" case, but there may be more legal nicety to it.

That said, I thoroughly agree with Chef Tyke's assessment above!

There absolutely should be CCTV and it definitely should not be available to the public so there is a good chance there is evidence either way. Potential terrorist targets in London very rarely have CCTV blindspots. Plus the guy on the ground is on CCTV meaning there was a camera on the incident. The only way we would see the incident would be if someone recorded it on their phone or if some moron leaked the CCTV footage like in Manchester airport (although I'm not even sure if the online safety act would require this kind of violence to be suppressed or removed!)

You'd hope so, wouldn't you? My doubt was because nothing had been published as yet. It will be helpful if there is some evidence - just as it is being in the Manchester Airport trial.

If they have it, you'd think the Police would be reluctant to show any CCTV footage to someone they are keen to question until they've heard his story, don't want to give him a movie to narrate.

The footage shown would surely have meant the person that filmed it saw the confrontation. Over and done with afore they got the phone out. A few others also in the area.

Other than the toilets, you'd imagine every square inch of public space is covered by CCTV in an airport

Luckily for Little Tommy we've never had any terrorism in a train station, so I'm sure there is no CCTV footage of the full incident... /s just in case

Just about every inch is covered by CCTV
