New rule - not allowed to sign any CM’s who have had anything to do with Arsenal.

I share your concern about Maël at right -back. He looked lost in that position at York.

I’d rather believe our manager who sees him every day and will speak to him more than anyone in this forum.

If he had the right mentality then he’d be given the right support and that would show in press interviews.

He’s obviously let himself and the squad down for whatever reason and I trust the manager in making this decision based on him seeing things on a day to day basis.

His illustrious past prompted that decision, no doubt. His signing could have turned out to be a real coup.

I congratulate you on your commendable empathy. If players aren't settled and aren't feeling happy, their enthusiasm for the game is highly likely to be affected.

Kelechi did acknowledge last season he needed to improve off the ball last season, but judging by Conor`s reaction during pre season it doesn't seem like that progress has happened

That said, he could still be effective against teams that sit deep or off then bench to hit diagonal balls to our wingers, although he wouldnt play a significant amount of minutes.

I also think Conor`s very self driven and vocal approach to the game might lead him to misintepret Kelechi`s reserved nature as a lack of engagement or effort, rather than that just a quieter personality. Plus with this being his first proper season as head coach and him being fully commited to a high pressing approach hes likely to be less accepting and gives less wiggle room to players who dont meet those physical demands.

Ultimately, the responsibility falls back on Mladen for offering a player a three year deal when his skill set doesnt align with the high press style hes trying to build at the club.

Are we to assume then he'll be amicable to a mutually agreed cancellation of his contract so he can end his very well paid torment away from his family.

Whats not to believe about what i posted .
Are you calling me a liar RT?
I shared my opinion based on an observation, and I wasn't alone in that.
I didnt state anything as a fact.
As for your assumption, he's let himself and the club down you might be right but then again you might be wrong, its Your opinion of which you are entitled to, however there's two sides to every story and until we are aware of all the facts, both sides ( which we may never hear ) we will never know. Only then can we call it factual
only those in the inner circle will be privy to what is and has taken place.
Having not heard Conors interview as yet but from what ive read , it sounds like he was very diplomatic in his reply when asked about the situation surrounding Kelechi
As for giving the support needed, you'd like to think the club would be on top of things
But yet you only have to look recently at some of the clubs recent failings and treatment of certain players both ex and returning who have gone out on loan and some of the horror stories they tell. That support you say isn't always there
We are not perfect by anymeans
Yet those staff members that work within the club try their best on limited resources, and have their hands tied.
I recall Barry Murphy at a past event talking about a period in time at the club when to use his words ''Theres far too many foreigners in the team, one can't even speak or understand English, how's that work in training let alone in a game''.

We didn't have an interpreter working for the club nor did we employ one, unlike a lot of the top teams do and that's just one instance of support you'd like to think we'd offer but didn't.
Hopefully the situation is resolved and both player and club reach a happy medium that has a good outcome.

I'm unclear if we paid a fee or signing on fee when Kelechi joined - if he's no longer turning up and available to play then it feels like a breach of contract and we might want to try and recover some of that loss from him accordingly.

Agree if we don't want him here, and he doesn't want to be here either, just let him go. No point persisting with a bad situation if we don't have to and can reinvest the wages.

we shouldn’t have got involved at all hes had documented falling outs at previous clubs - so again really it’s a problem of the clubs own doing that we are again counting the cost of.

Let’s be clear Connor wasn’t great off the ball at any point of his career.

He was renowned for not being the best at tracking runners and doing the dirty work, although he did get far better at the back end of his time with us.

I think you’ve taken my post the wrong way mate.

I wasn’t insinuating you wasn’t telling the truth.

I heard the radio Sheffield interview last night where Conor clearly said there was an off season disciplinary issue with Nwakali, therefore he hasn’t been involved at all in any pre season preparations.

That’s why I said “I’d rather believe our manager than something that was suggested on here”

Wasn’t a dig so apologise if it came across that way.

This is true of his early time with us, but by the end I'd say he was good off the ball. I'd be surprised if he wasn't near the top of defensive stats for midfielders during his time with us in the Championship.
