    Think he was getting plaudits on Radio Sheffield at the back end of last season, though I don't know much about him. Though given both Connell and Bland play there, it suggests the former might be on his way.

    Looks to be a dynamic, ball-carrying number 8 who covers the pitch well. Comfortable taking the ball in tight spaces and retaining possession, he looks a seriously tidy player. Probably could also operate as a number 6, I suspect we’ll use him on the right of a midfield three.

    If this signing does trigger any departures, you’d think Phillips might be the one to make way?

    Thanks for that. Some good running with the ball from midfield in that.

    As you’ve said, doesn’t look like a Connell replacement but potentially one for either Phillips or maybe even Russell.

    Looks to have good potential and Donny fans seem to speak well of him. Although they also did with Matty Craig. I guess we will soon see for ourselves.

    I love transfers completely out of the blue. No rumours, no build up, just randomly announced on a Monday night.

    I like Matty Craig. I think in another system, he would have been sensational. I also think when you have someone on loan, people don’t have patience. Kelly being a permanent deal allows him a year to find the league out (hopefully doesn’t take that long) then he can proper crack on. I would have had the same optimism if Marty Craig was signed permanently as I think he would have been a great signing as you have time to work with him.

    It’s a lot to ask a 19 year old and a 20 great old to run the midfield, assuming Connell is going. Phillips is a bit of a fanny who goes MIA despite his obvious talent. This lad needs to be good.
