I'm just saying I'd be ok with playing a right sided centre half at right back for a bit. Not sure its that strange a suggestion.

 

So you think MDG is capable of playing as a RB in a team looking to have attacking full backs, despite playing all 190 career games as a CB, can't wait exciting times.
The necessity would be signing a RB and playing him there, that would make sense

No offense, but why? It literally happens every transfer window.

I also think people are thinking that it’s looking like Phillips DKD and Connell are going to be here next season. There’s still a very good chance they won’t. There’s also a good chance that this happens on the last day of the transfer window with an undisclosed offer that was too good to turn down’.

We’re 3-4 players off, at least, we could end up needing to sign 7-8 before the end of the window and the guy we’re tasking to get that done? Mladan.

I’m going to assume there’s a right back on the way this coming week. There’s absolutely no way that they’ve gone all summer binning off three lads who could play there without identifying a replacement or two.

Maybe the one (or two) they want are incredible, and it’s therefore proving a waiting game? So they’re happy to plod on with Maël in the interim?

Don’t hold your breath. I’ve no faith in Mladen whatsoever to do what’s needed. We’ll be playing catch up by 1st September, like we always are.

I agree about the 3 player sales. We were told to expect sales and, as of yet, we’ve not seen any big sale. I was certain Phillips would go but it seems a bit quiet with him right now. Connell I wouldn’t want to lose, especially to a fellow league 1 club. You’d expect a lot of interest for DKD but it seems we are holding firm, as we should. He’s on a long contract and if someone wants him, they can pay silly money.

I would be happy with 2 right backs, a centre back and a proper number 9 by the time September is here. But agree any sales would need replacing.

 

I reckon I could outpace MDG. I mean he is dreadful in his proper position but as a RB my lord…

Another thread turning into a Mael-basher. This must be a record at this point surely?!

 

If we are playing with wingers this year I think I would want the full backs to stay put more, help out the defence and stop crosses coming in. DKD, McGoldrick, Phillips, Vickers and Russell can do the attacking.

 

Is full back that difficult a position to recruit for? Rotherham have signed two in the last few days. It’s not like we’re looking to sign a 20 goal a season striker.
