Bit of a concern that Plymouth feel confident enough about his ability that they're willing to loan to a potential promotion rival........smacks of Cosgrove to me. Though to be fair he'd be hard pressed to make our defence any worse
*****!, stunk his previous gaffs out with his performances in their respective shirts etc!..........sithi.
Strange one for me this. Plenty of experience at the level. A bit at the level above too. Good age. On the face of it a decent addition. BUT None of his previous club’s fans seem to rate him, his parent club are going to be competing against us at this level and are happy to let him come to us - and we are taking him only on loan, paying all of his wages to boot. Which aren’t insignificant. Around 250k in wages alone - with no prospect of any return. If he was going to be a decent full back option at league one level, why didn’t Plymouth want him? I don’t mind bringing in players on loan - it’s a decent option on a low budget - but I’d want them to be players who will be first team regulars and improve the team. We can’t say he isn’t going to be that with certainty I know - but the fact another league one team who will be harbouring ideas of promotion has let him out on loan, the fact he’s made just over fifty starts in the last four seasons too - it doesn’t suggest he’s likely to be a game changer for us. Let’s just hope Plymouth are wrong, our recruitment team are right, and that we have pulled off a blinder. All the best to him.
If this is Biddy's ITK signing I can see why he was so profusive about Mladen. Yes this particular post is dripping in sarcasm.
I've actually seen a bit of this lad, moreso than any of our recent signings, and to put it mildly I'm not thrilled. I just hope he performs better for us under Conor than he has for Plymouth or Bolton.
To be fair, had we signed Lionel Messi, Barcelona fans on twitter would have said he's ****. That's just twitter. Plymouth fans on their forum say he's 'ok'.
Nice to see we’ve learnt our lesson and we keep signing players that are ok at wing back but can’t defend
Played for Peterborough for half a season in 2023 and they made the playoffs. Played for Bolton for half a season in 2024 and they made the playoffs. Played in the Championship last year. Decent player at a position of need, but Gent is likely the long-term plan there hence the loan.
With this signing and the Fleetwood Carabao cup match, I'm shaking like a shìtting dog already. The new season can't come quickly enough.
He's ok but they don't want him and don't mind him coming to us doesn't fill one with much confidence when you think about it.
I understand the loan with Gent being injured, who I like at LB and am happy to progress with as our long term incumbent….. If we are now assuming it’s a back 4 — Does this mean Farrugia is anticipated to be injured or can’t play in a back 4? If so where is he expected to play. Is Earl first choice LB and the loanee back up? Or is Earl now regarded as a CB and the new guy first choice LB? We now seem to have too many LB’s, or another CB (Earl) which we also didn’t need
You could say that about every loan player ever. I know absolutely zero about the lad, so there's no judgement from me until I've seen him play.
