100%. And there's probably sides interested who haven't been mentioned. I just wonder how much is just general gossip and how much is genuine interest, given Doug reported last week that no bids have been received for our players.

Upfront definitely needs strengthening but so does CB. We conceded 70 odd goals.....in L1.
If we're playing a high press we need at least one CH with a bit of pace. I accept we've already got enough CH's but the problem is they're all slow or crap.....or in the case of MDG, both. We need to offload a couple which is easier said than done.

I think I’ve seen Oxford and Charlton too. Should play a game of bingo for ‘championship clubs after DKD’ as I don’t think a full house will be far off come August.

I get it too. He’s clearly been brilliant in these last 2 seasons in terms of attacking output. I want us to keep him, as I would expect every single one of our fans does, but if a championship side offers us and him silly money, it’ll be a no brainer.

I'll add them on. Yeah, it's never going to happen, sadly. We just need to ensure we get a good price for him now. Enough to put a dent in our losses with a bit left over to add to the squad. His replacement becomes number 1 priority.

I disagree. The priority has to be reducing the number of goals we concede. As it should have been in the last 4 transfer windows. At least until DKD is inevitably sold. We need to move on a couple of centre halves, though 2 have left already. We need to address our lack of pace at the back. We could also do with a couple of proper full backs. Again, we're probably going to have to move on a couple of the 1000 wing backs we have, but aside from Bland and Gent (who could miss a large chunk of the season already), we've nobody really who's suited to that role. Earl and O'Keeffe at a push.

Goals weren't a problem last season, particularly when we switched to a 433 towards the end of the season, though losing DKD and Humphrys will certainly impact us at that end of the pitch. But for me, the prioirty is reducing the goals against column because ultimately, that's how we finished in mid table.

Yes100%.. every team that has a good season needs a solid foundation.. In the upcoming season at least that foundation must be put in place. We must be come hard to score against if we are to achieve anything.. Don't forget our goals against column was relegation form last season.

Yeah we certainly need to be reinvesting back into the squad. Trying to fix the obvious goals conceded issue from last season and then if we lose DKD and Phillips and then if Humphrys doesn’t extend his deal, that’s a few goals that need replacing.

All “ifs” right now but looks like it could be a very interesting summer.

The area certainly ticks the box for him, let's hope we get a good fee

Definitely not, he's a club man, won't want to spoil the relationship he has with the club

Regards the defence. I don't think it's as bad a made out on individual levels. The 5 at the back was poor at best. (Dogger) totally disorganised.
A back 4 which Conor seems to prefer. Will know exactly what's expected of em. We need natural full backs imo. (Enough CB 's) With the ability to move forward. (Eg Nicky Eaden) Not the other way round. (Eg Cotter. But I do belive he is a capable back up out wide)
I've not seen enough of Gent or Barratt to give a proper opinion at mo.

I reckon he reports it all, it's whether he's being told everything that I'm dubious about.

All by nothing accounts. He's been linked to absolutely nobody by mainstream media.

I don't recall exactly when we switched to a back 4. From memory it was for the game against Orient. In those 4 games we conceded 9 goals, which is still over 2 a game. I get that Conor hadn't been in charge long, and will need time to implement his ideas. But something needs to change, because going periods of 14 games without a clean sheet like we did to end the season isn't sustainable if we want to challenge the top 6.

People are only loaned, especially to clubs at the back end of beyond.. If their parent club sees them as surplus to requirements.

Now I believe someone gave him a 4 year deal.. See I've no idea what money he's on, maybe not that much hence the long deal but in contract players will only move on obviously, only if a better deal is offered.

I'm not sure I agree with you. He has written some very critical things about what's gone on at the club, especially last season.
