    ‘Barbara Ann’ was one of the first singles I remember my parents playing as a really young lad. Even my grandad didn’t call it “bang bang bang”, so he must have approved.

    I saw him on his "Smiles" tour in Birmingham about 20 years ago.

    He was one of the giants of the 1960s.

    Another true icon gone. I was lucky enough to see him perform Pet Sounds 10 years ago. RIP.
