That is absolutely fu¢king insane. I mean really, really crackers. Watched the Mackems a few times last season and he didn't exactly set the world alight. Put himself about a bit, but not much more. Do they think they're getting Jude?!? Genuinely struggling to compute this one. On the plus side, if they want DKD to replace him, they'd better stump up decent money. Is Bellingham much better than him??!?
£31 million for a bog standard Championship midfielder who's nowhere near the England side. Absolutely crackers. I wonder what a prime Neil Redfearn would be worth in today's market.
You've hit the nail on the head, you've only seen him a few times this season. Dortmund (and many others) have a full scouting network who will have analysed him in depth, and wouldnt be spunking 30m on a "name" Don’t get the hate at all. He's 18, played pretty much every game in a tough league helping them get promoted and held his own. Plenty there to work with, and the Sunderland fans I know are saying its a fair deal for both sides. Good luck to the lad... Archie Gray went for 35-40m last season, same age for context
Going rate for that level of potential. Can see him having a great career. Might not hit the heights of his brother but he'll be a top division performer.
Now, back to BFC, if only there is a club out there willing to consider Max Watters XG as the top priority ranking then we could get rid of this clown for a decent sum
I think so , it was obvious he was a generational talent even at 17 , doesn’t mean you will make it but Jobe isn’t even the best Sunderland midfielder
No hate from me, just surprise at the price. I hope Jobe absolutely smashes it, and goes on to forge a top career in his own right. Growing up in the shadow of one of the best players in the world can't be easy.
Hey this is only a rumour... But I've heard its 1979 lol, and a top division club are going to be the first to pay £ 1 million for a player. Yeah right, whatever next ehh!!.
Jobe and Jude (and DKD) are completely different players. Jobe operates more as a 6 or 8 — someone who drives from deep, times his runs, and offers balance — while Jude is a true generational talent who can do everything but thrives most as a 10. The only real similarities are in their upbringing, mentality, and physical profile. They both grew up in a hyper-professional environment and have that same obsessive drive to improve — that’s where the parallels end. Judging Jobe independently, he’s still a 19-year-old midfielder with top-level potential. Just because he might not explode immediately or grab headlines like Jude did doesn’t mean his value should be discounted. He’s developing in the right environment, has the tools, and the mindset. Give him 3–4 years, and there’s no reason he can’t be a £60 million player. He’s not going to set the world alight right away — and he doesn’t need to in order to be worth 30 mil.
The guy has 'Jobe' on his shirt. He had this as he didn't want to be in the shadow of his brother with 'Bellingham' on his back - he wanted his own identity. Fair enough. Then he goes and signs for Dortmund. Not in his brother's shadow though. No way.
they're buying potential, 19 years old, played all last season in a promotion winning side, good chance they'll be selling him for 90 million in 2 years.
