Pretty sure we’ll sell DKD but what worries me is what we’ll bring in to replace him.

Agree with most of what you're saying mate, but we're never gonna get anywhere near £10m for him, he's not worth that, he's never been proved above L1. I also don't think we'll sell for £1-2m, it'll be more than that. £3-4m perhaps. You could argue that it's not enough and we should hang on to him, but that takes me back to the original point, we're skint, that will allow us to bring some players in maybe.

There's a guy at Birmingham who has scored 2 more goals than Dunn and Brum paid 15 million for him. Can't remember his name but he was in a winning team. Dunn was in a crap team and still kept scoring. I disagree with you obviously:)

He had proven himself in the championship though, and a few games in the PL for Fulham. And it was Birmingham being silly last summer.

I hope we squeeze every penny for him mate, and if there's a few clubs wanting him then his price is only gonna increase as they outbid each other, but I don't think £10m is realistic.

Stansfield is better than Dunn mate, whether we like it or not. If both were put up for sale today then Stansfield would fetch at least 3 times more money.

He's shown his qualities but also been anonymous in games like the rest of so called better players, so I wouldn't be too fussed if any of them are sold,
I just hope that we don't do our selling in August.

I obviously hope we don’t sell him but I can’t really see a scenario where he’s still here come September. He’s on a longish contract so I would be saying to him “stay until January and we will see where we are then”. However I would think him and his agent will want to cash in now whilst his stock is probably the highest it’s been.

I can imagine DKD and Phillips will both be playing in the championship soon.

The club’s position should be that we want any sale to have a significant impact on our financial position and transfer budget. If we sell too cheap we do nothing about either and simply make our team weaker.

He's the one who should be kept at all costs. Sell every other player.

A few things... Stansfield is 22, not 27. Stansfield is a massive outlier as he was bought by Birmingham City. Lastly he wasn't playing division 1 football at the time, but was signed from Fulham.

Anyone looking for possible/likely figures for DKD should go look at the record fees paid for Division 1 forward players aged between 23-30.

Only 5 players in that age bracket have ever been sold for 2.5m euros or more. £3m for Dunn would be an excellent deal.

Stansfield is a prem player in the making. DKD is at his peak right now and hopefully for him can make an impact in the championship.

Disagree. Given his contract length and performances over last few seasons. There will be plenty more players in the next year or 2 which will be added to that statistic. Not saying 3 million is bad, but its certainly not excellent.

It doesn't really matter what anyone goes for in the future, right now history suggests that £3m or more is excellent business for his age and position. Also have to look at the fact that he's probably short of that extra yard of pace for Championship football and he's only played 65 games at Division 1 level, 42 of those with Barnsley.

Its the future what dictates the markets in football mate. Or very recent history at the minimum. Nobody is going to say X player only cost 3 million 4 years ago and so DKD is only worth Y amount. 3 million for Mads with only a year on his contract was excellent business. I just don't think the same price for DKD is as good. Teams will always pay more for goalscorers

What on earth is their problem then, with a pathetic attitude like that.
Surely we've never had a reason to look at them as 'rivals', have we.
Apart from helping them get relegated from Lg One, back in season '02.

For a player like DKD, £3 million is a fair price because of his age. But for younger strikers—25 or under—who have scored a lot and look like they can play at a higher level, clubs might pay £5 million or more, especially if they have a few years left on their contract.

It’s harder for really talented young strikers to end up in League One because good players usually get picked up by bigger clubs or play in higher leagues first. That’s why not many strikers have been sold for high fees in League One.

The numbers disagree. The best prediction of the future is the past. This doesn't mean he can't or won't go for £5m but the chances of that happening are on the 'less likely' end of the spectrum, imo.

£5m will be excellent business though, so fingers crossed!

Their best player left them, they don't like it so have turned.
