We don't barely spend and we are always cost cutting more than ever.

How come smaller clubs manage better than us, that's the real question?

That's why we stood on the side. We were level with the 18yd line for the goal. But nearer the halfway line when kicking towards the home end. (Could just about see the goal posts at either end.) And saw joicey go down.

Ney towards the end of last season we could have closed 3 parts of the ground for the league games the crowds were that small. Waste of time having a home friendly.. Anyone that wants their preseason fix, all the games are at most only an hour away

Much prefer the away games. Premier league sides allus send most of the 2nd/3rd string. (At the end if the day they are more about fitness.) Bit like us at Athersley.
Only gripe. Harrogate done twice already. Worksop and Alfreton done to death. York will be a nice venture out. New stadium and all that.
I think and stand corrected. (Results mean fekk all) I seem to remember someone on here saying we didn't win a game promotion season (prior) to prem.

Did we not add others part way through last season? We filled in last minute to play Roma I'm sure for example.

I'm sure they'll add others. If not, it's pre season to get some fitness so it's not really that much of a big deal anyway

That shows the level of ambition at Barnsley FC at the moment one open friendly against league opposition and thats from L2 the rest against part timers. No doubt we will get to know about the 10-0 defeats from the behind closed door matches from the other clubs involved like we did the Leeds one. Tinpot is the word I think best describes us at the moment

Quite frankly I couldn't give a **** who we play so long as we are fully prepared for the league campaign. No excuses. I also hope we have a new fitness coach because the players fitness levels were an absolute disgrace last season.

Is that when the Baggies came back from 2-0 down, to win 2-3 ?.
Which I think is their only ever win against us, at Oakwell.

Pensioners have the lowest rates of poverty as a demographic. They belong to the wealthiest generation ever. Hopefully we will follow Emley's lead.

For an aging fan base that might be counter productive for BFC.

All the more reason to shift the incentive to younger people & families. Rather than discounting pensioners target under 30s. It's a £150 cliff edge when you turn 22, probably one of the reasons the ground is so dead.

    Oap discounts are becoming rarer.
    Theatre
    Concerts.
Just paid Full price Durham v Yorkshire T20.

Spurs do not have an oap ticket for new season ticket holders. Only existing ones qualify.

Where do you draw the line as at what age. I can imagine, for most over 22s it would be less than a weeks wage if national and local figures are right.* ?. Its a difficult one. It's all about affordability imo. (Not age groups. Beyond a certain age). There are so many other options as well. 4months 6months. 10months options.
I get the families issues. But £29 for kids is a big incentive.

    *
The average annual salary for a 22-year-old in South Yorkshire is difficult to pinpoint precisely due to variations within the region and individual circumstances. However, based on general salary trends for that age group in the UK, an average range of £30,000 to £40,000 is a reasonable estimate.
    32-44k nationally.
