Good warm up for our league fixtures in a couple of years under these gimps. Are we renewing the pitch late? Or is there some issue with Oakwell?
Happy with the York one. Not too far to travel for me Haven’t actually been inside the main stadium proper (aside from sports centre / cinema /nhs centre thats attached)
The old Bootham Crescent was one of my favourite away grounds to visit. Probably due to our decent recod there.
I too liked Bootham Crescent apart from the time we couldn't see the ball after it crossed the half way line.
Well, glad I got Harrogate and York, Scarborough would've been nice. There's a lack of any quality so it'll be interesting to see if they're sharp come kickoff.
Poor that. There are ways to protect the pitch and work on it, whilst the Boxing was going on. To have no home friendly I don't remember the last time that happened outside of the pandemic. You would have hoped for at least one friendly to be against a Championship side to test our far we've come once new signings are in the building.
Sad times that. I have family who live at Clifton, so not too far away. Bit of a dive though to say it's about a 10 minute walk from the centre https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/35086190/uk-city-drug-gangs-recruit-kids/
My first away match without parental supervision for the league cup match in 76, drew 0-0, came back on the British Rail “football special”!
https://www.emleyafc.co.uk/news/eml...cond-highprofile-preseason-clash-2921237.html Turnstiles opened two hours before kick off and a tenner to watch. I may pop up. Been a while since my only visit seeing Lee Hughes score a cup hat trick there for Kidderminster.
It’s sat on foundations that I designed and is one of the closest grounds to my house; so also looking forwards to my first visit!
