    She didn’t promote her over her though, Earps got injured in a game against France, was replaced by Hampton and her performances meant she kept the shirt, despite that Earps has had starts since as well.
    This season Hampton has been the better performer.
    Earps is still a top keeper but is certainly not any better than Hampton.

    When you’ve done what Earps has done in international matches saying they are on a level with each other then picking the less experienced as first choice is poor

    But that’s the point they are not on par, Hampton is slightly better than Earps and has been for most of the last 12 months.
    Granted there is very little between them but the reality is Hampton offers more options to England than Earps with her long distribution ability.
    It’s not like Earps was dropped either, she got injured and the player who replaced her has done nothing wrong to be dislodged. To remove a player who is as good if not better because of past glories is poor as well.
