Beat the bat loads of times, eventually the edge is found - and it got through between keeper and first slip…

In all fairness it was low and neither could realistically have caught it.

Surrey all out but they passed 500. Yorks will have a real struggle to save this game. Only thing in our favour is that Surrey have already drawn 4 this season

Stinker of a match by Yorkshire. Roll on the T20 starting.

Our inability to bat might see us relegated. You need 400 on a road like the Oval. And we might be losing YJB to the IPL.

Buckingham doesn’t look like a great selection at this moment in time.

Yes, batting first and struggling to get 250 regularly will see us struggling near the bottom I fear. Had high hopes for the season but not looking very good at the moment.

Just when Wharton and YJB were steadying the ship a late batting collapse probably condemns us to an innings defeat tomorrow morning

This was always going to be a hard first season, back in the Championship.
And this game away at Surrey was only ever going to be a weather helped 'draw', at best!.
Its failing to beat Essex though like we did last week, from a winning position, which annoys me the most.
They are the type of results which might cost us if we are relegated.

Missing the experience of Malan and some now established batters are not stepping up.

And what to.make of the overseas signings.

Good as over this one. Hopefully Coad can have a swing and make them bat again but not sure if we'll make it to lunch.

The two overseas have been a waste of money so far. We could have done with one of our overseas being a batter to strengthen our weak top order.

Seems like Yorkshire’s recruitment team, if they have one, are pretty hopeless given the waste of space overseas signings these last few years. Masood had his moments but was, mostly, a poor addition despite being an international captain.

I think the best result this season will be only just avoiding relegation. It started poor last season and picked up later on. The same again will be good.

I said last week that the points dropped against Essex might come back to bite us.

We got exactly what I expected at Surrey.

Never thought we'd win this one. Bur we liae Bairstow soon don't we, and he'd proving handy with the bat.

Agreed I have far more confidence in our T20 overseas. We should be definitely aiming for finals day.
