    EDIT

can’t be bothered - this issue with posting numbers is really grating on me.

It’s intermittent too - you never know when it’s going to post the numbers or random emojis

Have a look at our league placings for the last 50 years. Or the last 40. Or 30. Or 20. Or 10. If anything 4th in league 1 is below average. I was being generous.

My prediction - DKD will leave on 30th August and this time on the 31st Brian Mahoney's Waist will be confidently predicting that the 2 attacking players that we need will be arriving in the next 8 hours.

I saw that too and it totally baffles me how we can be on course to lose 10 million quid next year, Benson is the last of the championship contracts so where can all the money be going and who is responsible for managing such wasteful spending.

Yep, if he's going get it done early, Get as much as we can for him and maybe try to get a quality loan or two from the club that he goes to.
We need to hit the ground running next season and not be fannying around on deadline day.

They probably would and if you watched him this season should pay more than 3m

Don’t know why anybody would want him to be sold 3million or not.Without his goals this season we could probably have been relegated.
We want to be building a team round him for next season and push for the championship where the money far exceeds £3million not buying 3or4 players to try and compensate for losing him.

No-one is getting him for less than a million like some on here seem to think. We should be looking around 4-6 million or fek em off

£3m in this division would be a lot of money. A quick scan shows there's only 3 other players aged 27 or over who've gone for more money (Fabio Borini, Jeremain Lens, Wayne Hennessey)

He'd also be the first English player aged over 25 to be sold for £3m or more in the history of League 1.

It is, but can anyone seriously disagree that DKD is worth at least that.

Not every club splashes £3m hoping for resale value.
Some still believe it will help them climb the pyramid.

I mean yeah, Brum took it to an obscene level, but you see my point.

I'm no expert but my guess would have been (before looking at numbers) that £3m is a good deal. Now I've looked it would be very good. Unsure how much Mansfield might have as a sell on ?

I don’t think it’s a good deal, but acceptable if we get sell-ons and other add-ones etc.

Mansfield forum are very confident they have a large sell on, say they always do and they're expected to more than double what we originally paid. But, I guess they're guessing, same as us.
They do seem very bitter about his loss, almost Winnallesque.
