So sad. I loved him as a player. Before he signed for us he was always a player we talked about at school as "we could do with a Payton"
I'll never forget me Dad checking teletext before I went to bed and seeing we'd signed him. I went upstairs buzzing.

Mick Butler was a great forward as well and for a little one he could jump higher than most center half's

I remember the incident of non celebration. More so, the one at home. With him being a boyhood lifelong Burnley fan.
    He scored in both games.
like you, sad to hear he's suffered because of the game.
Believe it or not. He had never played for Burnley until after us, released as a schoolboy at 15. then joined hull as a junior. At 18 . Which surprised me after checking Wiki.

It was Grimsby. First goal was a pearler.
