Shame he couldn't get a consistent run in the team to help him settle. Injuries and playing in one of the least effective Barnsley defences in a long time certainly didn't help him. Good luck to him with wherever he goes next.
Brilliant attitude and personality. I wish him all the very best and you can tell his words are heartfelt, which isn't always the case in players leaving statements.
Echo what others have said in that he’s clearly a great guy but not good enough for what we need. I absolutely wish him all the best though and I’m sure he will get an MLS contract with someone. Hourihane said he would be telling players the situation on Monday (yesterday) so I would expect a few more of these in the coming days and I would certainly expect a retained list very shortly.
I think he came in for some unfair criticism at times. Always gave his all. Forget which game it was. In the first half away, when he and Killip were outstanding. The rest of the defence were completely missing. Good luck for the future Donovan.

A really lovely lad, he fully bought into the club, the town and community. I remember seeing him in tears after the Bolton game, knowing he was likely to miss the rest of the season. Looking at this season, it didn’t feel like he was ever afforded the sort of regular run that the others got. I imagine he still scored more goals than they did, and probably had the best win percentage as I’m sure he played those four successive wins. I don’t think he’s great, and I’m glad they aren’t taking up the option. He wasn’t cheap and his attempts at defending were at times crazy to watch. Best of luck to him.
