I wonder where he will end up next, the suspense is killing me Lots of awful responses from Scousers as you would expect, as they are Scousers. The arguement appears to be about loyalty. It seems they expected him to do what Grealish did for his boyhood club of signing a new contract so he could be sold for vast cash.

 

So sad too bad never mind (yawn)

 

More chance of Dearne or Dove.

Overrated

 

It's a tough one. Publicly he stated he wanted to be a club legend and captain. But privately ( or not so privately) his head was turned by Real who told him clearly that if he signed a new contract they would not buy him.

I kind of get the fans anger. At a much lesser level, we would be upset to see Jalo or Wilkinson walk away for nowt after 5 or 6 years academy input. LFC put 20 years into TAA in both development and then superstar salary. So on the face of it TAA has chosen the signing on fee over giving 'his club' something back.

But I get TAA sentiment too; he has won it all at Liverpool and for his own career wants to challenge himself elsewhere. I just get the feeling he was a massive star in the LFC setup but at Madrid he will be just another player.

I get what Liverpool fans are saying that he could have done what Grealish did for his boyhood club of signing a new contract so they got a good fee.

But Trent has more than paid back the investment in him and clubs don't show loyalty to the dozens of players at every level they release every year, so it works both ways.

 

I agree,he owes them nothing.He's been a great servant to the club and now he wants to experience something different.I fair bet he'll be back in the premier league to end his career.

Exactly this. If I was a footballer I'd take the opportunity to go and live and work in another country.

He could av signed a new deal with a 30 million get out clause to pay Salah a couple of weeks wages .

Don't think many of the players live in Liverpool to be fair.
