    I’m not sure making the world championship semi-final with a ‘temporary’ cue he doesn’t like, changing both the ferrule and the tip mid tournament,and having had no competitive snooker for months, is making a fool of himself.

    BBC will be looking at what to fill the schedule with tomorrow night. Two sessions of 8 before then. Plenty of time to reach 18 with a session to spare.

    Haven't watched any of this final. It's a joke. Feel for Wakelin, O'Sullivan and snooker fans. Still can't get my head around why BBC commentators fawning over Xintong when the establishment threw the book at Lineker for being decent.

    As I understand it, he was the bottom of the food chain when it came to the match fixing scandal, pleaded guilty and co operated with the snooker authorities O' Sullivan was very supportive of him, as he tends to be of the Chinese players in general
    He's been a breath of fresh air this final, some amazing pots and breaks, clearly enjoying himself. I wanted Ding to be the first Chinese world champion, but it's not to be.

    I'm not disagreeing with that. But Higgins has set the precedent of being allowed to play and win titles, and arguably he was in more of a position to have known better .
    Anyway, we're reliving the 1985 final in the interval!
