Was wondering, what if this Labour Govt, was as hostile and politically vindictive towards a Reform controlled council, much in the way that Tory Govts have been towards Labour controlled councils such as Barnsley. Would there be an outcry?
Makes you wonder doesnt it It can't bode well for the Mayor from a political aspect. Guess all eyes will be on Donny now and how it pans out
That occurred to me yesterday but I very much doubt the government would do that. We live near Burton on Trent in Derbyshire, and both Derbyshire and Staffordshire County councils have gone to Reform. If the government do what you suggest, it might get a bit grim living round here.
No I don’t mean that at all because that never happened and if you think that then you really are out of touch and haven’t a clue. Remember Sunak bragging in his PM hustings that he’d diverted funds that were earmarked for a ‘deprived area’ and sent them to somewhere. ‘ more favourably’ Then we heard about Richmond, his constituency, receiving in excess of £40 million whilst Barnsley were told they could have peanuts after being promised vital funding. To many, including posters on , it’s like those 14 years of Tory rule where we had years of unnecessary Austerity whilst the rich got tax breaks never happened.
Definitely I don’t know where we go from here we haven’t a single electable party ! The two main parties are just playing right into Reforms grubby little hands.
No it isn’t, but the general public didn’t want that party, (see Corbyn era) what we have though is a party that for me is too far to right of centre, but still tthe one that most represents the ‘ordinary person’ unfortunately folk are being hoodwinked into believing Reform have their best interests at heart. I will judge this current govt on their full term in office not after 11 months whether I agree with all of some of their policies.
Yeah, then we’ll see Farage swigging Bud out of bottles instead of pints of beer. One of the ‘lads’ eh
Brexit still hangs large over the labour party. Due to the swing seats being large leave voting areas and nearly all of the labour cabinet being pro EU.
Oh for sure, however Labour are still afraid to speak on the issue. Which I get there's not much use to being honest and in opposition.
I dont know if Reform are better or worse than the Tories or Labour. At the same time i never expected Labour or Tories to be as bad as they have while in office. Seems like the country is crying out for a true alternative to the big 2. I dont believe Reform are it but a lot of voters seem to think they are. So whether we like it or not Reform will power forward as it seems the top 2 are letting them in and unfortunately there isnt a strong enough other option people understand.
