How much Trust In The Owners

Do you have to get the recruitment right on the whole this summer ?

Their assessment of the squad is miles off, is this because they watch something we don't? or denial for poor recruitment? Or blindsiding fans due to being skint.

An Owner that thinks we are a top 3/4 squad and a sporting director who thinks we were really strong in defense prior to the season starting.

We’ve wasted a lot of money this last year buying and loaning players that don’t look up to the job.

If we didn’t have the money to get the right players then that would be one issue. That we are spending it on the wrong ones is unfortunately worse.

 

None! , honesty goes a long way ,this lot are about as dishonest a bunch as I can remember, not dishonest in a vindictive way but dishonest in a these suckers will buy any old b@//sh!iiite we feed 'em kind of way , "top four squad any one".......sithi.

 

Begs the question why? What's to gain from BS, I'm not doubting you btw I'm just struggling with the concept of what there is to gain from the spin

 

Ain't a clue pal!....I laughed my pecker off at one point in Neeravs interview with Radio Sheff when Rob Staton ? banged on about how special the atmosphere at Oakwell is when things are going well and then how poor its been for the past 12 months or so and what could be the reasons behind that and Neeravs reply was "well we've been scratching our heads at that ourselves" he thinks we're all f@£king daft ....might be reight to be honest;-)............sithi.

How much trust do you have in the owners
was the original post. I simple answer........ None!. Their antics and mismanagement over a number of years now has led me to this position but the season 24/25 was the final straw. I will probably renew my season ticket again(first went to watch Barnsley fc in season 1967/68) but it's more out of loyalty in the face of adversity rather than hoping for a better brighter future with the present owners.I wish Conor H well and good luck as I have a feeling he is gonna need it.

What I do think, much to Super Tykes dismay is that we have a man who I think will demand every player next season conducts themselve as a pro of the highest order who will be willing to run through a brick wall for him. I can see us doing business earlier than ever and I think CH will take the reigns more than some will believe, our owners aren’t bad people, but I think there learning and at the same time as been at our expense too which hasn’t sat well with the fans in certain sections.

I think CH knows the issues and is doing the best to alter the culture at oakwell but rome wasnt built in a day, no doubt this summer is the most crucial in our history so Spectemur Agendo it is, if not then time to sell up not sure who to but just my observations from the outside .. it is major rebuild time

 

The issue I have with the owners is that they clearly don’t understand the game well enough and Mladen has convinced them that he does. Blind leading the blind?

 

Thing is, every club has a bad time at some stage, its when we get comments about how good the squad is despite the evidence of our own eyes that gets really galling.
It really does look like the squad has been assembled by somebody without a real understanding of the game, you can have a really good player ( and yes we do have some of those) but if they don't blend with the teams style or shortcomings it really doesn't matter.
It like they think ooohhh we needed a defender or midfielder so we bought you one, but with no thought to the deeper needs like pace ( severely lacking in this team) what side of the pitch they prefer to play, are they any good in the air etc.
And strikers we need goals so we'll sign, err nope got me there!!

 

I'd have more trust in Liz ******* Truss.

 

Ask me again in September.. What we've already seen transfer wise has been substandard.. And what we have youth wise coming through, at present are not capable of consistently stepping up over more than the odd game or two
For instance if the board feels comfortable playing centre back pair of Lopata and Shepherd in front of ether Flavell or Smith. Then I would expect the decline to continue.
Our goals against column is nothing short of appalling. And unless better is brought in than we currently have then they'll simply be zero improvement.. Keeping the ball out of our own net is just the start of our problems..
I will give the club-recruitment-Conor every opportunity over the summer to make the necessary improvements.. in hope more than expectation, to first stabilise then improve us to be at least a competent L1 side worthy of a top six side.. Plus lay the foundations to move beyond that in the not too distant future..
Some hard decisions got to be made.. size of club wise.. letting people go and trimming the cloth..
If the current board, recruitment staff fail this summer in this. Then I just can't to see how we would move forward under the current regime..

Great Post, our lack of pace is frightening, especially considering how we are planning to play, but pace usually costs money I wonder if they've thought about the cost of assembling a squad capable of playing in the manner they see or if its purely an afterthought around recruitment.

That's some club résumé.Never heard of any of them !

 

I think it needs to be split into two groups the owners and the people they employ. The owners yes I believe they are decent people who care about the club. It's clear Neerav hasn't got a clue about football which was confirmed by his car crash interview. The worrying part of that is his judgement re who they employs they very much live or die on weather the dof succeeds or not. The other postion are more of a business type appointments which I think he's more qualified to make let's hope Mladen repays the faith that's been put in him.

 

Absolutely no trust as we have an incompetent director of football and a deluded chairman who can't see his DoFs incompetence and thinks that the worst Barnsley squad in years is a top 4 side when it's clear to most people that it's far from that
