Shrewsbury played some good incisive football - the highlights show our defence as fragile and easy to turn/pass through, which should be no surprise.

I'd argue Gauci was significantly at fault for the 2nd. That through ball was his to claim every day of the week. No way their lad would have got there before him.

Not the through ball the cross across the 6 yard box maybe. Marc was doing his best statue impression prior to that.

I’m with Micky, I think he should’ve got there for the through ball. From the quite limited viewing I’ve seen of Gauci, he doesn’t look massively confident rushing out of his goals.

Agree with your other culprits though. Bland caught napping at the back post for both really but then he’s a central midfielder isn’t he? I do think he will come good.

The empty home stands should be a big concern along with the players form.

Earl’s defending for the first is astonishing.

He made a great save 5 minutes before the goal a free header going in the bottom corner. The statuesque defending for the goal was worse for me than the goalkeeping by time Roberts realises where the runner is it's too late.

Yeah that save was world class. He does seem a good shot stopper and I wouldn’t be against him returning next season. I just think he can be a bit static on his line.

Roberts won a good header initially from the corner for the second and the ball ended up near the halfway line but when it came back towards our goal, we looked all over the shop.

I'm in Lanzarote so wasn't there yesterday, truth be told I've sacked it off since March despite having a season ticket(my 35th year). Just watched the 1st goal and **** me sideways does Earls weak as piss defending just about sum this side up, no bottle , no leadership and in most players bare minimum effort.

I'll probably renew next season but unless there's a major improvementon reckon next season could well be my last.

Conors hardly impressed in the few games he's had but i do like the cut of his gib during past weeks interviews wether he can back that up next season remains to be seen. Massive clearout needed not just playing wise but throughout the club .....Sormaz definitely needs hooking ..........sithi

Agreed. If we are going to play a back 4 we definitely need a proper left back. Phil Chambers would never have allowed himself to be shrugged off like that.

I wasn't at the game but at 1:20 it appears that Max Watters has an open goal to head into but decides to play it back.
Is it just the angle and my eyes are deceiving me? It looks bizarre.

A prime example of why he can’t play at LB. Beaten far too easily, just doesn’t have the pace to play there.

Or the ability to play centre back. Makes you wonder exactly what statistics show he's any good because it's not the statistics that my eyes use to to send an image to my brain

Mind boggling how we’ve recruited so many defenders and none that have any pace. Criminal really for people getting paid big bucks to find players. Doing a good job though according to the chairman.

Earl recruited from a team that went onto get relegated, Okeefe signed from a team that got relegated that he played a massive part of and we wonder why we have started to struggle we are signing players used to failing.

Get where you are coming from. But not all players that come from relegated clubs are cack. One man does not make a team.

Agree with the comment above. We have to get the next window right. Recruitment has to have Conors approval and recommendations regardless of the stats. formula.
Things have to be done quickly if we offer players deals that are reasonable. Let's not wait until they look at other options. And we end up with panic signings. Conor has to impress that on the players he wants to sign and possible loan signings.
