Realistically, who would actually want to sign for Barnsley with its lack of ambition?

    It's going to be difficult to attract ANY half decent players here, the Club seems to actively suck the life-blood out of the players until they end up abject and lack-lustre. Oh, and that applies equally to any future managers (Head Coaches) who might just be thinking of joining us.

    Why wouldn't you on average 10 months work for 2 or 3 years pay
    Think myself and many others on here would consider joining the queue for that type of deal

    I think they realised again that nobody wanted it, or rather, nobody wanted to work for them.
    So they had to act quickly, to try and make it look like Conor is who they wanted all along.
    And if not him, it would probably have been another Clarke situation. Where the fourth or fifth choice, was eventually hired.
