    I’m getting multiple emails.

    I went there last season.

Can’t think why else they would be contacting me?

After me and Molly finished off the 92 a few years ago I’ve found myself on the mailing list of several lower league clubs. I haven’t the heart to unsubscribe from them though, even though the chances of me ever going in the home end again at Stevenage, Forest Green, Cheltenham, etc are extremely close to zero. Funnily enough, Leyton Orient is one home end I’d happily sit in again, cos of the fab little bar underneath the stand.

It was one of the highlights of our travels, although we went there when we were still living in London, so it wasn’t one of the longer journeys. As we sat in that bar at half time we both agreed that if the same bar was beneath the Ponty or East Stand there could be deaths as a result of the amount of people that would try to squash into it, whereas at Leyton Orient there were only a dozen or so people in there at half-time. We’d gone down after 35 minutes to make sure we got in, as the lass behind the bar told us it got “really busy”.

During the pandemic, Marine AFC drew Tottenham in the 3rd round of the cup and even though the games were behind closed doors, they sold 'virtual' tickets for it online. I think it was dubbed as the biggest mismatch in FA Cup history as Spurs were top of the Premier League and Marine were in about the 8th tier. I bought a ticket and have been on their mailing list ever since. I've been sent pictures of their new supporters bar, funded by the Tottenham ticket sales, and sent a link to their end of season awards night where I could vote for volunteer of the year.

Our defence will be glad it’s you and not them anymore.
