    Listened to connell yesterday spoke well, said on a personal level not his best season but had the illness last season. Sounded like he would be here come the start of the season.

    He hasn't been the same player since his illness, must be even more frustrating for him than it is for us.

    I’m not sure Hourihane will appreciate him mentioning that he gave him loads of one on one training before the worst of his 3 seasons with us!

    On a serious note hopefully he’ll be back to his best next season, it is a serious condition that affects sportsmen for a long time.

    I don't buy this illness stuff. Yeah he's been ill and gotten over it. Kudos to him for that but in terms of playing ability he hasn't been same since his Wembley miss.

    There I've said it again lol. That miss has fried his head.

    Speaks well.

    I really hope he can get back to his best for us. We’ve seen in it in small amounts this season (although he hasn’t been as poor as some fans make out) but hopefully next season we will see it more.

    A feisty Luca Connell sweeping up danger is key for us moving forward.
