KIRBY, bought mine back in the day 1980's when stationed in Catterick, i won the ITV Seven, with a 10p e / way bet, an the Wife wanted one, She won as well, had it for yrs then we split up an the hoover went with her obviously. Listen mate buying an hoover depends on house size, carpet or flooring, extension pieces an lots of other issues good luck, we av a Shark upstairs a Little Henry in the Garage for hoovering the lawns, an a G Tech air ram darnstairs.

 

I wouldn’t be without our Shark now, it’s amazing!

 

Mrs has a cleaning company.
Don't touch Dysons.
Miele, overpriced, not worth the premium.
We always used to swear by Shark, anything goes wrong, 5 yr guarantee, ring them, send a little video of what's broke and in 3 days you've got a new part. We must have rebuilt a couple for free, but eventually we realised they probably weren't built for industrial use! Would be our choice for domestic use tho.
G tech do a good small lightweight cordless that we use for the boat too.
We now use Henry for clients, totally bullet proof, simple tech that doesn't go wrong, best performance, winner.

I was going to say, you see lots of professional cleaners using Henrys but I don't think I've ever seen one use a Dyson.

 

There must be a reason why all these office cleaning companies use Henrys rather than these bagless Dyson/shark etc.

I just wish my missus would agree. We must have spent about £2k on vacuums in about 5 years.

 

Have a look at the Titan range for cheap priced/performance warranty excellent and just keep swapping, know a lot of car Valeter’s who use them and when they break take them back and keep swapping.
Industrial wise company called V-tuff excellent but if kit for reasonable priced, built to last and some have 3 motors and lengths of pipes upto about 30m

 

Cost v value for money and are more sturdy built.

 

Dyson all the way

 

Yes. But what does she hoover with.
Joking aside. We've had one for several yrs. Front roller changed once (£12) 10 sec. job. other than that, better than a Dyson.

 

Shark vacuums are the best in my opinion

 

When I hired a cleaning company for my bar they showed up with a brand new Numatic on the first day and just invoiced me for it. I was never given a choice in the matter, but it's still going strong seven years later!

I don't think they still make my model, but it's basically a grey Henry.

My partner has a wireless Shark which she loves - it's definitely much easier to keep on top of things without having to fiddle around with cords.

 

Do what I do.. employ a cleaner!

 

Numatic is the company, Henry is their brand.

 

Sharks are brilliant but are very prone to the botton hose splitting and they've made it so they can't be fixed..

 

Yep, I was trying to get across that mine is/was their commercial model (so just branded Numatic rather than given a name). Probably a bit more powerful, but essentially the same thing as far as I can tell. Henry still uses bags as well, right?

Looks like they've now taken the little faces off the front of their professional range, which is a shame.

 

So they've become another faceless corporation.

 

We have a Miele we bought in a closing down sale and a Dyson. The Miele is high quality but has a bag so doesn't get used. The Dyson seems to be made in a Christmas cracker toy factory by comparison. I wouldn't recommend either.

Carpet cleaners are my thing though. Seeing all that brown water flushed down the sink that the Dyson missed is so satisfying in a nerdy kind of way. Upgraded to a secondhand Bissell Big Green from Cashies and it's a win.

 

Opened a can of worms here we all can't wait to tell our vac stories. Here's my towpences bought a miele upright must be pushing 20yrs since it's built like a tank and weighs just as much but it will still suck your fillings out. We got fed up of humping said machine so got a shark had a couple of years been great, as has been mentioned keep filters clean and that will help with lifespan (tip wash filters in fabric conditioner vac smells lovely when used).

 

My vacuum is spotless. Never needs cleaning.
