Maybe if he could have just concentrated on his own game instead of trying to bail the others out too he might have fared better.
Nah, for a big lad he’s knocked off the ball often too easily, and is easily ‘tricked’ and out-paced. His attitude and commitment are spot on and should never be questioned. However, I hope he is replaced as our experienced guy next season
Yeah but I think as most fans are saying, and Martin himself might think it as well. That maybe now is the right time to move on, but obviously, good luck to him.
Remember going down to Plymouth midweek many years ago and Disco scored a worldy of a long range goal in a 4-2 win. Think he scored twice. As he hit the ball from getting on 30 yards I was screaming at him to pass thinking he can't score from there! The ball flew in the top corner and showed what I know about football. I'm few weekends later I bumped into Disco on a night out in town and told him the story. It gave him a great laugh and he just replied "honestly I was just as surprised as you" Great bloke, Amazing servant, Forever a Red. Go well Disco.
I've got Devaney's two crosses against Liverpool and Chelsea in 2008 etched into my memory banks forever. They were a thing of beauty. Thanks Martin and good luck.
First thing Hourihane should do is go out and get a proper, experienced defensive coach who will be dedicated to sorting the shitshow at the back out. No matter what personnel we’ve had in there over the past 2 seasons we’ve been atrocious. We shouldn’t be trusting a rookie with that job on a part time basis, go and get someone proper in.
