i know over the years we've head some weird and wonderful unconnected to bfc threads on here, so here is another! :)

please can someone recommend a vacuum cleaner?!

at the risk of sounding a (more) grumpy old man, im fed up of continuingly having to buy a new one every couple of months and none of them been any good.
ive tried cheap, expensive and various brands but nothing ever seems to last two minutes.

is it just the way of the world now, whereby manufacturers dont make things to last, therefore you have to buy more than the 'good old days' . or am i just a grumpy(ier) old man ?!

    thanks in advance
    coyr

We've got a Dyson cylinder vac which must be 15 years old and still works perfectly (had to replace one part, at the at the end of the flexible hose which got broken). Apparently the newer ones made in Singapore are much less robust and reliable. Dyson also told people to vote for Brexit then immediately moved his manufacturing to Singapore so I couldn't possible advocate buying one....
I had a VAX upright which was decent..
+1 for a Henry, never had one but used a few over the years, simple and reliable.

As MR says, don't buy a Dyson, unless you only want a trendy ornament.

I had a Shark which was a sort of upright/cylinder combo. We were happy with it but it didn't stand the test of time.

We got a Samsung Jet 95 Pro. Bloody brilliant to be honest. Had a Shark and it was crap - spat out dust/debris every time you turned it off. This is expensive in Currys but we got a deal direct from Samsung. Comes with a 5 year warranty too. Dead easy to use, decent battery life and easy to empty. Comes with hard floor spinning wipey thing (which we've not used yet).

PS Wouldn't touch Dyson as he's a dick!
PPS Clearly not "our" Dyson! I meant the ****** that offshored his production to China after Brexshit!

We have a small Shark that’s ideal for a little clean-up, nooks and crannies etc. And a bigger Shark that’s as good a vacuum you could ask for.

Like owt else, if you clean things, look after them properly, they function better.

Henry’s are a good shout too. Never had one personally but we’ve one at work and it’s a beast.

I'm writing this from the hospital
Don't worry! The doctors say I'm going to be OK but I must warn you. The Dyson Ball Cleaner has a very misleading name!
