    And heard that Barnsley were in for a lower league player, I'd be taking serious interest and potentially be looking to gazump the deal: especially if it was a defender. I wonder if this is the case and we have to be extra- secretive.Our scouting and transfer deals in the last couple of years have been pretty astonishing.

    Surely that's always happened with every team in the lower leagues? What I don't understand is why Wycombe don't very often get gazumped when they're looking to sign a striker
