Always sad when a club stalwart leaves, but no room for sentiment. He gave us some fantastic performances and memories as a player, and years of service on the backroom staff. I wish him nothing but the best for his future.
Go well, Davvers. Another of the old guard. Top bloke and I enjoyed many years working with him. Not a single bad word to say.
Super post, totally agree. Wish Disco nothing but the best, I think its the right call, been saying Conor needs someone he knows well, trusts and is strong when he needs to lean on them.
Thinking Conor looks a bit sneaky , comes as a player but won’t play , sees Clarke off then Devaney reminds me of Davey whispering campaign against Ritchie
Shame to see him go. Pretty inevitable though once Harban was asked to step up. Certainly not mutual. Hope he has got something fixed up.
A fantastic servant to the Club. However, I think this particular change was necessary, probably to the benefit of both parties.
Do you know, or are you guessing that Devaney already has employment lined up elsewhere? 'Cos that's the only way both parties would seem to benefit from his departure.
Top bloke. Thanks for your service Martin Good luck and all the very best for the future Sorry to see you go
I've no idea if he's got something lined up or not. What I meant was that the coaching staff needed a freshen up anyway, so hopefully that benefits the Club. And for Devaney personally, he was essentially getting frozen out by the looks and sounds of it, so better than stopping around as some sort of spare part cone putter-outerer it's to his benefit to leave and seek a position more inkeeping with his experience.
Well it seems to me that there has been a lot of covert engineering going on for quite some time in order to arrive at head coach Hourihane. Let’s hope he takes us to the promised land. Let’s also hope that he is given no more time to provide success than those other coaches who have been peremptorily discarded before being given a full and fair crack of the whip. I’m thinking of Collins and Clarke in particular. So far since the latest change of coach there has been precious little to cling on to. But we’ll see. Regarding Devaney, he seems like collateral damage in all this. It cannot be to his personal benefit to leave, and then have to see what job he might be able to land. Bread needs to be put on his family table.
And yet the DoF is still in place sacking everybody else to keep the heat off himself. Wake up Mr Chairman Sormaz must go.
Devanney has been a long serving, loyal servant to BFC which is a rarety in modern football. But perhaps it's time for a change for all concerned. Good luck Martini the future!
Class parting message on O/S by Disco. Thought he might’ve gone back to the Academy. Anyways, wish him nothing but the best for the future
