Carling and Coors being the only pints on offer and for that price is a disgrace. Leyton Orient had a local(ish) ale and a decent lager on for £5.80, in London ffs.
Queues in the concourse have been low all season. Fans won't take being ripped off. It's the little things we could do better. Away fans drink in East Dene, but don't know where to go. Many times including today walking in the Ponte car park I have to tell away fans they are going the wrong way as they head east jot west. Would it harm to put some 'away end' signs with directions in different places, such as down by the food van?
I sit in the West Stand. Went to get a bite to eat at half time (just as the clock ticked on to 45 mins to be more precise, so missed the Russell goal). Nobody in the queue, which wasn't surprising as there was hardly anyone in attendance. However there was not a single item of hot food available even before the ref blew for HT. I don't understand how we continue to manage the catering so badly.
If you had a boozer close to the ground it really wouldn't be difficult to put on an offering miles better than that, infact opening your doors, switching on the TV with some sport should do it, I'd be all over that shambolic effort if I was a landlord.
The Dove is a million decibels now, though. Ridiculously loud music. Not what you want from a pre-match boozer. I like what they've done with the place, but doubt I'll be frequenting it again if that racket is here to stay.
Yep. We we left the Dove at 7 minutes to 3 and still managed to get to the ground in time to here that abomination Country Roads nonsence.
Mount doesn't allow away fans mate. Haven't done for many years. But over the last couple of games I've not noticed any doormen. So a few Bolton fans managed to get in. (Mainly outside twas a lovely day, weather and result wise lol.)
The matchday experience must be amongst the worst in the EFl, it’s shocking! And them prices are quite frankly, disgusting. It all mounts up, add that onto a crap squad & the crap board & crap recruitment team, there’s no wonder we’ll be fighting relegation next season. The club is on a downward spiral.
Try the Sty and Bellend Rd. We may not be the best but certainly not the worst. The recent fan zone admittedly was not weather friendly. And the prices are ott in the concourse. But plans are in place for the new fan zone. Will you be frequenting. ?.
I don't know if this is relevant to the OP but here you go. When me Dad first started taking me in 85 and up until they pulled the Brewery down for some unknown reason he liked to go early and were in the ground for around 2:15pm. I used to love that bit before the game when his mates and the regular lads that stood around the halfway line about five steps up and all the "ars it gooing?" "As tha seen that what's gone off?" "Here ive heard a reight un!" You know it probably still happens but that was my match day experience and it was enough. Game kicked off and full time came and away we went. Like I say I don't know if it's relevant but thought I'd share.
We had 300+ Middlesbrough fans at Shaw Lane Sports Club yesterday. No bother, just came, ate, drank, sang and went on their way. They commented how cheap it was and that they would definitely come back. It’s time to stop treating football fans like criminals and give them a bit more credit.
