Wish connell could take note and get up to speed with the game. Another passenger performance of a half.
He's a very talented player for this level, we just need someone stronger and more effective to back him up in midfield.
I'm so happy they brought in, and aggressively enforced, the new rule this season about not harassing the referee. I think it lasted about three games into the season. If Rugby can do it, so can Football, but the powers that be do not give a hoot.
Again back to our recruitment.. only players with good tippy-tappy stats considered.. James Cryne's algorithm needs a tweak.. or binning
I watched the Reds Report earlier today and the consensus was get rid of Russell at the first opportunity. They watch different games to me. How many goals is that this season? Granted, his defensive work is not always superb but are any of our midfielders (or defenders for that matter)? Other thoughts: Poor first half Wingbacks just don't work Reverted back to playing it forward to nobody and slow passes across the midfield Bring on Nwakali Phillips unlucky
To be fair to Connell he's here there and everywhere but still manages to almost be an hindrance to the team.
Imho..fairly predictable. Both teams with very poor seasons show flair and openess that would please the neutral. We were slightly ahead on points but I still have it fairly even. Scary bit is thats our good half and it will be interesting to see what the coaches do at half time....if it remains open like this I reckon we will do our usual flat second half and they may get a couple (hope I'm wrong). Mentions for Bazza, who has done well ..... and the absolute worldy from Russell. Connell still can't pick a 5 yard pass and its beginning to grate .....our defence still look awful collectively. Thats all I've got.
Poor ball retention, no movement and shît tempo equals a proper Darrell-like performance. Having said that, we've had a few chances and Russell's goal was worth the $13 watch fee. We need to tighten up and speed up if with we want anything from the game.
