Big difference between Chinese players who are new to the scene taking bribes, compared to a multi millionaire put in a situation where he feared for his life so said whatever they wanted to hear and was done up by a dodgy newspaper that went out of business.

Never found guilty, his claim was that he felt threatened so just said pretended to go along with what they were saying to end the situation. I give him the benefit of the doubt, especially with his talent he certainly didn't need the money so that adds to his case.
Prefer it when the Chinese players lose. 100% our region loses the tournament as soon as that happens!

Four female competitors lost in the First Qualifying Round: Reanne Evans, Baipat Siripaporn, Bai Yulu and Mink Nutcharut. I'd love to see a female player make it to the final rounds at the Crucible some year soon.

 

Tough start for Ronnie against Carter. A bit of needle between the two and I can see Carter raising his game for the encounter.

 

If a female player does make it I'm glad it will be on merit unlike in the Darts. While most studies show that men on average perform better at spacial awareness tasks it will only take one women to come along and break the mould.
