Pleased for him another 2 goals for him today 8 in total from midfield more than our strikers apart from DKD. Had a good season although some critics on here but probably the same ones who said all Phillips does is assist and jalo will be non league in a few seasons. Wouldn't surprise me if clubs come in for him this summer.

Majority of his goals have been great strikes as well

He’s turned into a key player for us in midfield. One year left on his deal, I’d like to see it extended.

I really like Jon. Probably my favourite player. He has his off days but when he’s on it he’s really great.

Me too but I think he could be the one we will sell rather than lose for nothing only phillips has had a more productive season from midfield.

Players aren't just either good or bad, players have good spells and bad spells, players fit into systems the right way and work well or don't fit into a system and might not play as well etc.

This is why recruitment isn't as simple as the right choice or wrong choice

    Another great performance.

I think he halts their breakaway for their goal too, had the referee not blocked him. Mr Bell was indeed, a bell.

Didn’t realise he only had a year left on his contract. Might be one we sell this summer if he’s not willing to extend.

I might be wrong, but I thought we had an option on it.

    He will certainly have suitors.

Big, strong and scoring goals. With technical ability. Still young.

Only report I found from when he signed at end of January 2023 said he was on a 3 and a half year. No mention of an extra year option.

A player I have always rated even when the boos have rang out.
Needs to play in a system that suits him .

He’s had some very good games this season and some rather anonymous ones too. Seems like a player where when the game is open and we are going well, he looks class but when the opposition are pressing us and we need to battle, he looks poor.

Certainly wins “most improved player” for us this season.

I’ve never had complaints about Russell on the ball and attacking.

I’ve not seen anything but the goals today as yet so can’t comment - but it has been the other side of the game I’ve found him lacking.

On the ball and into the final third he’s a very good player, bit of grace about him for his size too.

In a team that’s on the front foot and playing well, he’s a massive asset.

Good going forward but poor defending from midfield. As some have said it's about what system we play. If we can cover behind him he's good enough but if you expect tracking back from midfield he's not your man.
